Top 5 Best JRE Episodes

This Top 5 Joe Rogan Experience (JRE) episodes covers a range of guests that, in my opinion, have made stand out episodes on the JRE and provide you with entertainment, comedy, information on life, our history, and the weird and wonderful aspects that make the JRE the number one podcast in the world.

Joe Rogan having such a huge platform to create what he loves, means that the range of guests covering all topics have an output to gain awareness for either their life or what they do which creates a great, unique and powerful show that really is in its own lane. The range of guests such as Tyson Fury, Sir Rodger Penrose, Post Malone, Brian Cox, Snoop Dogg, etc. really show how adaptable Joe is within his line of work to cover such a varied and diverse range of guests and be able to talk for 3 hours about many types of topics.

5. #717 - Steve-O

To begin this top 5, it would be hard to leave Steve-O of this list. I always loved the Jackass movies with Steve-O being one of my favourites from the group, however never knew what he was like or anything about his story. It was always the bad PR and media surrounding the perception of Steve-O that got the attention over anything else. in 2015 Steve-O had a couple of run ins with Seaworld as he was protesting in wild Steve-O fashion, changing Seaworld billboards and climbing a huge crane to set fireworks off with an inflatable whale. Seeing him in a longer podcast interview, which happened to be my first ever Joe Roagn Experience and podcast, it was amazing to see him tell his story and gave me that initial love for podcasting and how it differed from regular media. with Steve-O's wild life and stories, this podcast in the older studio of JRE is a great watch that I highly recommend if your looking to be entertained and have a good laugh.

4. #1881 - Rick Rubin

A more up-to-date podcast that recently dropped on JRE is with the music mogul and pioneer, Rick Rubin. Rick oozes innovation and finding new ways to do similar things, with his work in making and helping superstars that could easily do the talking on this podcast for him. Rick dives back into his early days of changing the sound of hip-hop, to linking Run-D.M.C. and Aerosmith, to working with the Beastie Boys and Red Hot Chilli Peppers. If your a music fan this podcast is a perfect way to see behind the curtain, and what its like to work with such creative geniuses including Rick Rubin. Joe being a comedian, and Rick having comedian friends, and producing some comedian records in his time, have great conversations about writing, comedian stories, and comedy in general. This is an incredible podcast with an incredible human who has truly changed so many lives and the innovation in music.

3. #1035 - Paul Stamets

This episode sums up the range of guests Joe can have on his show from the wildest of backgrounds. Paul Stamets is an American mycologist who has devoted his life to cover everything around mushrooms and the goodness they can have medicinally and recreationally. On this podcast, Paul Stamets wears a hat made completely from Amadou, a spongy type material that grows on the bark of coniferous trees, that is a perfect fashion statement to sum up Stamets.  He pushes the importance of mushrooms for our health and also for the intelligence and similarities mushrooms have to humans, while throwing in wild theories of humans link to mushrooms that is truly mind blowing. With these wild theories come some great mushroom experiences Stamets has had through the years including being on top of a lonely tree on a hill, during a thunder and lightning storm. A definite must watch, if you can handle the wild information Stamets bears.

2. #1000 - Joey Diaz & Tom Segura

The 1000th episode of the Joe Rogan Experience brought back regular guests Joey Diaz & Tom Segura, both friends of Joe and comedians themselves. Joey being one of my favourite guests of all time I couldn't leave him off this list, and both Joey and Tom having podcasts, the flow of these types of podcasts are always smooth and effortless. It feels like friends having hilarious conversations, because thats exactly what it is, and within this community these podcasts are always fan favourites. Joey Diaz has lived an extreme life, losing both his parents at a young age and living a life of crime, to becoming friends with Joe in the 90s and becoming a star within comedy and podcasting. This skill to take the unfiltered approach with taking ugly parts of his life, and transferring them into comedy bits or simply story telling on podcasts is what separates Joey from most. Any one of Joey's podcasts could of made this list, however the link with Tom Segura and it being such a huge milestone episode, it's definitely worth the watch.

1. #1284 - Graham Hancock

Just like the tip of the pyramids, or the sphinx head, something has to be at the top. In this case its Graham Hancock's 8th episode out of the 9 he has participated in, that tops this list. In this episode Graham talks about advanced lost civilisations that pre-date the history we know today, and Graham always delivers on the JRE, coming with wild theories backed with a heap of evidence for his claims. He mentions the younger dryas impact theory around, 13,000 years ago, that may have shifted how we perceive our history, with advanced civilisations that weren't the hunter-gatherer types we think of back then, however flourishing cities that were able to build magnificent structures and sites such as Göbeklitepe in modern day Turkey. Graham mentions Amazonian cities that have been lost through time, with Lidar technologies now scanning the land through the amazon jungle, finding city grids that most likely means the Amazon was an urbanised area before recorded history. This, in my opinion, is a must watch/listen depending on your taste in podcasts, that will completely change your outlook on history and what we know today.
